MYSTIC, CONNECTICUT - USA Video Interactive and LEARN have signed a contract to jointly develop and offer "Distance Education" programs utilizing on-line Intranet and Internet formats and networked multi-media platforms. USA Video Interactive will digitally encode a series of educational videos to serve as the prime curriculum for Teikyo Post University students enrolled in the university’s "Professional Development for Early Care and Education Providers" program. The program is offered to all of the approximately 2,000 Early Care and Education Providers requiring certification and licensing by the state of Connecticut.
On a statewide basis, enrolled students will be able to access the program’s content through USA Video Interactive servers housed at LEARN via USA Video Interactive’s Video on Demand™ streaming media technologies. "This is the beginning of a long-term relationship between all the parties involved to provide the best distance education technologies, first throughout Connecticut, and then nationwide," said Jean-Paul LeBlanc, Director of Business and Finance for LEARN.
Initial deployment of the distance education model will commence in September, and can serve as a model for a number of LEARN and Teikyo Post University educational programs adaptable to USA Video Interactive’s technologies.
"The distance education model we have developed for this project will revolutionize the way classes and courses are traditionally taught," said Edwin Molina, President of USA Video Interactive. "Any enrolled individual will have access to course content and lesson plans at their convenience, thereby allowing a user-friendly approach to learning that can now be deployed and utilized with virtually unlimited applications."
