USA Video Interactive Unveils Exclusive K-12 Video Portal to Complement its System Integrator Services to Education; Elected Officer of SchoolTone Alliance Board
Friday, 12 November 1999
DALLAS, TEXAS, Friday, November 12, 1999 – USA Video Interactive Corp. (NASD: USVO; ASE: US; www.usvo.com), a Platinum Level founding member of SchoolTone Alliance, unveiled its new www.k-12video.com video portal this week, complementing its role as a leading system integrator in education at all levels. The portal lets USA Video Interactive provide affordable, instant access for school classrooms across the United States to more than 10,000 titles from several of the world’s leading educational video libraries, and will enhance the ability of schools and teachers to optimally utilize the Internet for education.

"Our portal and technology allow school administrators to control more precisely and selectively the total cost of video curriculum content through scheduled, predictable and budgetable payment plans," said USA Video Interactive President Edwin Molina. "Our portal gives- virtually any subscribing school or school system full access to the latest Video on Demand capabilities, providing them with an inexhaustible supply of the most popular educational video titles when and where they want them. This supports very nicely the cost-saving trend in education toward browser-based network computing technology."

USA Video Interactive’s www.k-12video.com portal will enable school districts, individual schools, or individual students to use an assigned subscriber ID and password to access educational titles tailored to their curricula – whether they are in their classroom, library or at a home computer.

The www.k-12video.com portal was introduced at the 13th Annual National School Boards Association (NSBA) Technology+Learning Conference in Dallas. Cosponsored by more than 25 leading national education organizations, the NSBA Conference brings more than 3,000 educators the latest ideas, solutions and innovations from school districts across the country. More than 380 education technology companies are represented, including Apple Computer, America Online, Compaq, Corel, Dell Computer, IBM, Intel, Lucent Technologies, and Microsoft.

Also announced at the NSBA conference is that USA Video Interactive Vice President of Sales Daniel Sciro has been elected secretary of the Board of SchoolTone Alliance. Founded by Sun Microsystems, The SchoolTone Alliance brings together education technology and service providers to collectively create web-based solutions for educational content, communications tools, applications and professional development for the education community.
