Where to use MediaSentinel?
Production & Post Production
MediaSentinel allows major movie studios, independent studios, production and postproduction labs and other stakeholders to embed robust "digital watermarks" called SmartMarks into completed videos, video segments, digital dailies and other digital video content. When SmartMarks are embedded into video content, the courts have the forensic evidence to prove piracy and the copyright holder has the information they need to plug leaks in the production pipeline.
Stock Library Houses
Companies that maintain footage and features can use SmartMarks to protect their content and enforce licensing terms. By embedding license terms and timeframes into the SmartMark, it is easy to prove in court that a particular piece of video was licensed under certain terms, avoiding the defense of "similarity" or independent acquisition.
Broadcast
TV broadcasters, cable companies, satellite network operators and broadband Telco service providers can use MediaSentinel to complement the content protection strategies and technologies that may already be in place. An increasing number of content owners and TV programmers require such content protection technologies to be in place. MediaSentinel complements DRM, conditional access, encryption and other systems; if such systems are breached, the SmartMark still survives.
